Imagine being present at God’s creation of the world. “The earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep” (Gen 1:1). Even with eyes closed tight, I can’t begin to know the darkness that existed at that time. And then God spoke: ‘“Let there be light,’ and there was light” (Gen 1:2).
How gorgeous that first light must have been. From one miracle to another, God created all things—all things. The water, the heavens, plants, animals, the birds in the air—and through Adam and Eve, He created you and me.
Then sin entered this perfect world; however, God didn’t leave us in our sins. He sent His Son as propitiation for sin so our names might be written in the Book of Life. In God’s last chapter of His amazing story, John writes, “Then I saw ‘a new heaven and a new earth,’ for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away…” (Rev 21:1). What a sight that will be!
From Creation to Creation, God’s wisdom is perfect. His desire for us is perfect in every way. Praise God today and forever, Amen.
