“We love because He first loved us.”
1 John 4:19
God is working big things with little shifts of my heart. I liken it to the way a slight turn of a small rudder puts a large vessel on a truer course. He’s turning me from regarding self to seeing another, from defending self to considering another, from trusting self to humbly serving another – shifts resulting from treasuring Jesus.
Since I believe more today than yesterday the truth of His love, and of my own sinfulness, I treasure Jesus more. And I live life connected with other members of our body who love and treasure Him. In grace, we are not bent on justifying and proving ourselves, nor are we crushed by the accuser. Thus, we are freed to authentically love and serve one another.
Last Monday love broke through in an accident in one Hillside family’s home: calls went out, helpers came, others prayed, another diagnosed, and ALL were of this blessed household of faith called Hillside.
May Jesus Christ be praised.
“So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.”
