Community Thoughts

hillside Community

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.”
Hebrews 10:23-25

Experiencing authentic and meaningful relationships found in Community is a beautiful Biblical privilege for us all to engage with one another.  Life with one another in the body of Christ is a response to the Grace of God in and on our lives.  What would it be like if the Gatherings we experienced on Sundays together at Hillside were lived out in Groups throughout the week?  In various places, homes, days and times – we, the body of Christ at Hillside, would be scattered all over this Hill Country, living out authentic and meaningful relationships.  We are aiming at relationally based Community Groups, not just places to study and learn, but places to do life together!  Sharing our hurts, struggles, pains, victories, discoveries and joys!  It all beings with being known and knowing others (see John 13:35).
Our aim with connecting people in meaningful and authentic relationships is not a church growth strategy, it is a discipleship effort.  And by discipleship I mean simply, growing in Jesus together, defining our lives in relation to Jesus and helping others do the same.  Lets go Hillside!
