Pastor’s Letter: Easter 2019

hillside Pastor's Letter

Hillside Family,

As we look forward to celebrating Easter with you on April 21, we remember the purpose and the centrality of the truth that we celebrate. God’s grand story of redemption, through his Son’s victory over sin and death rests at the center of what we call the gospel. At Hillside, we wholeheartedly believe that Jesus changes everything and everyone. We believe that he longs to work in our hearts, to grow us and to mature us. We know that our broken world struggles daily under the destruction and chaos that sin has wrought. And we know, too, that Jesus is the only way to overcome the penalty and the power of sin. His life, his death, and his resurrection give us hope as we look forward to the “eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison” (2 Corinthians 4:17).

We want to invite each of you to celebrate the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ with us on Easter Sunday. We have four services scheduled: a sunrise service at 7:00am at Mystic Shores Lake Park + Pavilion, and three serves at Hillside at 8:30am, 10:00am, and 11:30am.

Members, please consider attending either the sunrise service or the 11:30am service, so that we can make room for visitors and guests during the 8:30am and 10:30am services. Easter Sunday marks an incredible opportunity not only for us to celebrate together, but also to invite those in our community who may not know the saving hope of the gospel. Would you prayerfully consider whom Jesus would have you invite from among your family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors? We would encourage you to also make plans to share lunch or dinner with those who join you to share with them the hope found in Jesus.

Lastly, as we continue to prepare for Easter, please join us in prayer that the Lord might use the opportunity to change lives and to heal broken hearts. To God be the glory!
