2019 Women’s Retreat Recap

hillside Event Recap, Hillside Women

The 2019 Women’s Retreat did not disappoint! We want to extend a thank you to everyone who kept the weekend in prayer. This year, a little over 70 ladies enjoyed fellowship, equipping workshops and fun activities through which we witnessed true connection, love, tears and laughter. We know the Lord was present as we discussed His Beautiful Names and we trust that He moved in each woman throughout the course of the weekend. Here are some take-aways from the retreat:

“Serving on the prayer team deepened my love and awe for God along with my love for women in our Hillside body.  I watched God literally open hearts and mouths to confess need and draw near to Him through our prayers. Doing above and beyond, He inexplicably connected souls with shared, unique life experiences together~ministering individually and corporately in powerful and palpable ways.  What a Father! What a Son!! What a Spirit!!!”

“This year’s retreat in one word was refreshing!  I loved the extra time built into this year’s schedule to be with the Lord. It was truly a spiritual recharge for me. Through the teachings, devotions and prayer times, God helped me to see how important it is to be connected to Him first, and how everything I do in ministry and service flows out of that connection with Him. And it’s through being connected to the vine that I can connect in meaningful ways with His people.”

“Why do we retreat? I guess the answer could be different for every person. For me, it’s an intentional time to pull away from life’s distractions and focus fully on God. A weekend away where we are equipped from gifted teachers pouring God’s words into our hearts and minds. Time spent in deep community, making connections that might not happen with the busyness of life. Finding times of rest… sweet, merciful rest. 70 plus ladies gathered for a weekend away… to retreat with their beautifully named Savior. What a beautiful name it is indeed.”

“My hope and prayer as we prepared for this year’s retreat was that women would experience rest. Not just physical rest, but spiritual rest. One of the ways I saw God answer this prayer was through our small groups. In these group times women were able to connect, share and grow together. The rest that comes from communing with the Lord and being with His people is the best. It was such an encouragement to watch it happen among the ladies!”

So much prayer, planning and preparation went into making this a retreat to remember! A HUGE thank you to everyone involved!
