Summer Sermon Series – Dave Bruskas
Our vision at Hillside is to make disciples of Jesus who press on to maturity in Him, are equipped and deployed by Him, to serve and reach others for Him. Join us as we take a short break from our study through Acts to hear from guest speakers who will open the Bible and point us to Jesus. This 5-week mini-series will introduce us to men who have been on the front lines of church planting. We hope to learn from such friends as we pray to become a fruitful family, launching more works in more places so that more people will be changed by Jesus.
Dave will be our guest speaker on August 2. Dave grew up in a loving but irreligious family, only attending church services on holidays. His mom, struggling with alcoholism, was invited by her friend to study the Bible. She quickly realized her need for forgiveness and placed her faith in Jesus. Before long, his dad also believed, and soon took Dave and his brother to church every Sunday where he eventually heard the gospel clearly. Convicted of his sin and desperate need for forgiveness, he professed his faith in Jesus and immediately sensed the presence of God in his life. After graduating from Dallas Theological Seminary, he served a church replant in Seattle, and then he returned home and planted a church in the heart of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dave currently serves at the Fort Worth campus of The Village Church. He and his wife Kara have been married for 30 years. They have four daughters, three sons-in-law, and three grandchildren.Click Here to Register for August 2 Gatherings
