How Jesus Changes Everything Part 2Transcript of this Sermon
- Marriage (v. 13:4)
- Money (v. 13:5-6)
- God has a plan to change everything and He has certain plays for us to run to overcome evil. We often want the sensational and ignore the simple commands He has given us in His Word. How does the Gospel show us the profound power of the simple plays He has called us to run in regards to marriage and money?
- (Hebrews 13:4) In what ways are you tempted to dishonor marriage through your thoughts, attitudes and actions? In what positive ways can you promote and honor marriage?
- (Hebrews 13:4) Sex and marriage tend to carry deep amounts of shame and guilt that keep us from talking about it freely in the light of Scripture. What shame and guilt do you carry that can be confessed, repented of and removed today through the Gospel?
- (Hebrews 13:5-6) What does it look like to be content with what you have? In what ways do you love money? How does the Gospel provide us with the motivation and ability to keep ourselves free from the love of money and be content with what He has given us?
4Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. 5Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,” 6so that we confidently say,
“The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid.
What will man do to me?”
