How Jesus Changes Everything Part 3Transcript of this Sermon
- Remember (v. 13:7)
- Remain (v. 13:8-14)
- Respond (v. 13:15-16)
- (Hebrews 13:7) Everyone follows someone. Everyone looks up to and imitates someone. Who you follow forms you. Who do you look up to and follow? Who looks up to you? What areas of your life are not worth following? How will those impact those following you?
- (Hebrews 13:8-14) The author reminds us that Jesus doesn’t change, there isn’t going to be a new and improved Jesus or some way to improve on what Jesus has done for us in the Gospel. In what ways have you been tempted to add to the Gospel? The enemy loves to use good things to distract us from the best thing- Jesus. Where have you experienced good things carrying people away from the best thing?
- (Hebrews 13:15-16) God loves it when we are grateful, do good and share with others.
What comes out of you most, grumbling or gratitude? What does this say about what is growing in you (Matthew 12:34)? What has your name on it? What good deeds has He put your name on to make much of Himself (Ephesians 2:8-10)? Where is He asking you to share what you’ve declared ‘mine’ (1 Corinthians 4:7)? What steps can you take today to repent and grow in gratitude and generosity?
