When life puts you under pressure, what usually comes out first (anger, withdrawal, anxiety, control, self-pity, criticism)? What might this reveal about what Jesus is wanting to form in you?
(Luke 23:26-31) Jesus never adopted a victim mentality, even though He was the greatest victim of injustice. Where are you most tempted to define yourself by what has been done to you rather than by what Jesus has done for you?
(Luke 23:32-39) The crowd, soldiers and religious leaders all challenged Jesus’ identity. What voices have you allowed to name you and give you value? How does the Gospel answer those voices?
Sin spreads from one wounded person to another, but Jesus stopped that cycle at the cross. Are there patterns in your family, workplace, or relationships that you've unintentionally passed on? How might Jesus want to stop that cycle through you?
When Jesus said, “Father, forgive them,” He was not excusing sin- He was absorbing its power and stopping its momentum. Who do you need to forgive so that the sin done to you does not become the sin done through you?
