A RADICALLY CONNECTED COMMUNITY

OUTLINE

  • Purpose of Community (Genesis 2:18)

  • Problem with Community (Genesis 3:10)

  • Provision for Community (2 Corinthians 5:21)

  • Plan for Community ( John 13:35)

QUESTIONS:

  1. Every church has a culture: how it's like them to act and interact with each other and outsiders. Do you find yourself consuming, critiquing and complaining about the culture of church or actively contributing to create a better culture? What are some ways you can create a warm, welcoming, inviting place for people to hear about and see Jesus at work?

  2. (Genesis 2:18) God says that it is not good for man to be alone. It is within the context of community that the character of God is expressed and enjoyed between believers. What is your primary view of the reason for community? How have you used community instead of being useful in community?

  3. (Genesis 3:10) All communities have a problem, sin. We are afraid and we hide. What do you fear most about being part of a community? When was a time you were wounded by a community? What method of hiding do you use most?

  4. (2 Corinthians 5:21) God has given us a provision to recreate community in a fallen world, the Gospel. When Jesus saves us, He makes us new so that we no longer need to hide from or be afraid in community. Where do you struggle most to apply the truth of the Gospel and walk out your new identity in Christ?
