QUESTIONS

  1. What stood out to you most from the sermon on Colossians 2:8-17?
  2. What tends to “steal” your focus and pull it off Jesus? What captures your attention the most in life? (Colossians 2:8)
  3. What does it mean to be “filled” in and through Jesus? How does this lead to a “peace-filled” life? (Colossians 2:9-10)
  4. Paul refers to a “circumcision made without hands”, what does he mean by this? In Jesus, we are forgiven and we are freed from the need of religious performance (legalism). In what ways do you struggle with legalism? What does freedom in Jesus look like? (Colossians 2:11-12)
  5. Jesus not only justifies us but he also sanctifies us. This sanctification is a process of transformation. How are we “formed” in Jesus? (Colossians 2:13-14, John 15:1-11)
  6. Paul tells the believers in Colassae that Jesus wins. How does Jesus’ victory over sin, death, and the forces of darkness change the way we live in our present world? In light of this truth, where does Jesus want to change you and grow you? (Colossians 2:15-17)
