Good News - Boasting in True Treasure

Apr 28, 2024Good NewsGalatians 6:11-18

Notes Outline

OUTLINE:

  • Know the value of what you treasure (Galatians 6:11-13)
  • Know there is a true treasure worth clinging to (Galatians 6:14-15)
  • Know that true treasure will never lose value (Galatians 6:16-18)

QUESTIONS:

  1. (Galatians 6:11-13) Like those Paul is opposing in Galatians, it is easy for us to take pride in ourselves rather than Christ. How are you tempted to boast in your own abilities or achievements? What is it about boasting in your own abilities or achievements that is comfortable? In what ways are abilities and achievements poor objects of our praise and security?
  2. (Galatians 6:14-15) The Cross of Christ stands alone as worthy of our boast. Why is it the case that we take pride in the Cross and nothing else? What does Paul mean when he says that “the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world”?
  3. (Galatians 6:16-18) The Cross of Christ is a treasure that never loses value and should change all aspects of our lives. How does the Cross of Christ transform our past? Our present? And our future?
