QUESTIONS:

• When have you struggled to see God as good because of something painful you experienced? Looking back, has your perspective changed?  
• Some of the most valuable character attributes are developed through pain, hardship, and suffering. What character qualities have you seen develop in yourself or others through painful seasons? Why are those qualities impossible to develop when life is comfortable?
• What is the difference between merely enduring a difficult season and allowing God to develop you though it? What helps you remain receptive to Him in the middle of the pain?
• Some of the most hidden sin is exposed through prosperity and success. How does having more cause us to feel that we need God less? What are some warning signs that God’s blessings are becoming substitutes for God Himself?
