2. (Genesis 43:1-15) Some tests help us advance. Life is painful and we look for pacifiers to ease the pain. How did Jacob's letting go allow him to experience God in a new and powerful way? How did this test help Jacob let go of his pacifier? Why do we need to let go in order to grow? What is Jesus asking you to let go of and trust Him?

3. (Genesis 43: 32-34) Some tests assess where we are at, showing what is truly going on inside of us. How did Benjamin getting spoiled test the other brothers? What sets you off? What infuriates you? How do these tests show you what's going on inside of you? What would Jesus have you repent of and bring into the light?

4. (Genesis 44:1-34) Some tests assure us that we have learned, matured and grown. Joseph sets up the same test where the brothers could betray Benjamin to save themselves and Judah passes the test with flying colors. Where has your past failure defined you? Where do you believe your failure is final? How does the faithfulness of Jesus free you from failure? Where does Jesus want to meet you in your failures and bring freedom?
