2. (Genesis 42:1-5) The brothers had kept a secret for 21 years. They had a huge skeleton in the closet. Jesus said, “Whoever sins is a slave of sin.” (John 8:34) What does it look like to be a slave of sin? How do our secret sins deceive and ultimately devour us? How does repentance ultimately set us free from slavery to sin? (1 John 1:7-9)

3. (Genesis 42:6-38) God is a perfect Father. He often uses gentle pressure relentlessly applied to encourage us to the light. Where has He used the following tactics to lead you to the light and set you free?

   1. (Genesis 42:2) Has your Heavenly Father ever used suffering to cause you to look at the skeletons and sin in your closet?

   2. (Genesis 42:7) Has He ever shocked you with hard words to cause you to look at the skeletons and sin in your closet?

   3. (Genesis 42:17-23) Has He ever used solitude to cause you to look at the skeletons and sin in your closet?

   4. (Genesis 42:25-28) Has He ever used softness to cause you to look at the skeletons and sin in your closet?

4. Jesus longs for us to be free - free from sin, shame and condemnation. What is hiding in your closet that He is inviting into the light?
