Notes Outline

Jesus our Ark

  • The Problem (Genesis 6:1-4)

  • The Pain (Genesis 6:5-7)

  • The Plan (Genesis 6:8-8:22)

  1. (Genesis 6:1-4) All the Bible is equally true, but not all of the Bible is equally clear. Have you ever gotten distracted and derailed by unclear parts of the Bible? How does the Gospel help bring absolute clarity and help us avoid distracting from Jesus (Luke 24:27)?

  2. (Genesis 6:5-7) God filled the world with good; sin filled the world with violence. The Bible says that God was “grieved.” How does it impact you that God feels? He feels sadness, grief, pain, joy and sorrow. Luke 15:17 says that there will be joy in heaven over a sinner who repents. How does this impact your view of repentance? Where can you repent today?

  3. (Genesis 6:8-8:22) God doesn't need much to work with. He always uses weak, broken people who simply believe Him. He used Noah to carry on His redemptive story. Do you believe God can use you today? Do you believe it matters who directs your story? How can you surrender the director's seat today?
