John: Jesus is God - Freedom

QUESTIONS:

1. What stood out most from the passage?

2. (John 8:31-32) Jesus says that freedom is the result of discipline and truth. Where are you not experiencing freedom? How does Jesus want to disciple you in the truth? What is one step you can take today to follow Jesus and experience freedom?

3. (John 8:33-47) Jesus says that it matters which father we follow. One is cruel and harsh, while God the Father is caring and helpful. What names do you carry? Who gave those names to you? How has the Gospel renamed and redeemed you?

4. (John 8:48-59) All sin is against God, therefore God alone can forgive. Jesus claims to be God, and therefore has the authority to forgive sin. What sin do you hold onto believing that it is too big to be forgiven? How has that sin kept you captive? Do you believe that Jesus wants to set you free today?
