1. What stood out to you the most from this morning's passage?

2. Politics are a good gift, but a terrible god. How do politics offer the promise of solving our problems and become a false hope? Have you put your hope in politics and politicians to solve humanity's problems? How can you fix your hope completely on Jesus today? (Psalm 20:7; Daniel 2:2; 1 Peter 1:13-16)

3. Intellect is a good gift, but a terrible god. How does education and philosophy offer the promise of solving our earthly problems? What is the problem with earthly wisdom (1 Corinthians 8:1)? How can you humble yourself today and put your hope in Jesus? (Proverbs 3:5-6)

4. People are a good gift, but a terrible god. Have you ever struggled with people pleasing? Fear of man? Perfectionism? How does Jesus’ life show us that our hope put in man is a false hope? (Proverbs 29:25)
