1. What stood out to you the most from this morning's passage?

2. (John 16:33) Jesus promises to provide peace for his disciples. What is the difference between the worldly view of peace and the biblical view of peace?

3. In John 16 Jesus predicts all kinds of suffering and even death for his disciples. This teaches us that nothing surprises God (not even his own suffering! Mark 8:31-33, 9:30-32 and 10:32-34). Does suffering surprise you? How do you respond to hardships, difficulties, and suffering in life? Can you have peace when you’re suffering? If so, how?

4. Do you let your circumstances influence what you believe about God’s love, or do you allow what you believe about God’s love to help you interpret your circumstances? Explain.
