John: Jesus is God - Jesus Is Not a Build-A-Bear

OUTLINE:

Jesus calls us to surrender to His will:

1. In Provision: God’s Provision Exposes Our Hearts (John 6:1-15)

2. In Peril: Jesus Is What We Need (John 6:16-21)

3. In His Promises: Jesus Faithfully Keeps His Promises (John 6:22-40)

QUESTIONS:

1. What stood out most from the passage?

2. The Galileans wanted to use Jesus and impose their will on Him. Jesus patiently and kindly rebukes their thinking and points to His true purpose. In what ways are you trying to use Jesus that is not in accordance with His expressed will? Are there any areas in your life where you're trying to force your will onto Jesus?

3. The required work of God on us is to simply believe in Jesus for salvation. How have you complicated simple belief in Jesus? What have you added to the Gospel in hopes to gain God’s favor? Will you repent?

4. The Lord exposes our hearts (desires, motivations, hopes, idols) through the circumstances in our lives. How is God calling you to surrender to His will and rely on Him in your life right now? How can you cling to the things He has promised and wait on Him for the things he may or may not provide?
