John: Jesus is God - The Empty Tomb: A Story of Hope

OUTLINE:

1. The perceived loss of hope (John 20:1-10)

2. The restoration of hope (John 20: 11-16)

3. The mission of hope (John 20:17-18)

QUESTIONS:

1. Mary had a terrible past and struggled with her identity before Christ. What lies do I continue to believe about myself? Where does Satan try to speak falsehood into my new identity?

2. The disciples were afraid, and Mary thought that death had won. What in life has distracted you the most from following Jesus? What circumstances have arisen that have caused you to despair?

3. Since Jesus is the source of our hope, how are we demonstrating that hope to a lost world? Are we only being a light for Jesus when it’s convenient and easy? Are we still reflecting Jesus in our lives when circumstances aren’t going our way?
