John: Jesus is God - Shame

QUESTIONS:

1. What stood out to you the most from this morning's passage?

2. (Genesis 3:7) Since the entrance of sin into the world, we have been hiding our sin and covering our shame. What are some of your favorite ways to cover your shame? How do you try to convince others that you are enough? How is the Gospel setting you free to be real?

3. Jesus wasn't just crucified, He was profoundly shamed (Matthew 27:27-30; Mark 15:29-32; Luke 23:32-35). The Bible tells us that He took all the shame and despised it (Hebrews 12:2). What names and what shame are you still carrying and believing today that need to be put back on the cross? What is the new name that Jesus has given to you? How can you walk in that new name today?

4. (John 19:23-26) Jesus covers our shame and clothes us in His righteousness. How do you fill in this blank? I am the disciple whom Jesus ______________.
