Luke: Focus on Jesus - What to Do When You Don't Know What to Do

Mar 09, 2025Dave TookerLuke: Focus on JesusLuke 2:21-38

Notes Outline

OUTLINE:

  • Walk in Love (Luke 2:21-24)
  • Wait on the Lord (Luke 2:25-35)
  • Worship in the Lows (Luke 2:36-38)

QUESTIONS:

  1. Walk in Love (Luke 2:22-24) – Mary and Joseph faithfully followed God’s law in presenting Jesus at the temple. How can obedience to God’s Word help you love others well, even when life is uncertain or difficult?
  2. Wait on the Lord (Luke 2:25-27) – Simeon waited patiently for God’s promise to be fulfilled. Can you share a time when you had to wait on God? How did that season shape your faith?
  3. Worship in the Lows (Luke 2:36-38) – Anna experienced deep loss but remained devoted to worship. How do you typically respond to hardship—do you withdraw, seek distractions, or turn to worship? How might worship help you endure difficult seasons?
  4. Recognizing God’s Presence – Both Simeon and Anna recognized Jesus as the fulfillment of God’s promise. How can we develop spiritual sensitivity to see where God is at work in our lives?
  5. Applying Faith in Uncertainty – When you don’t know what to do, which of these—walking in love, waiting on the Lord, or worshiping in the lows—feels most challenging for you? What is one step you can take this week to apply this truth in your situation?
