Luke: Follow Jesus - Because He Lives

SERMON OUTLINE:

• LOOK: Looking for life in places of death (Luke 24:1-5)
• REMEMBER: Remember what is true (Luke 24:6-8)
• BELIEVE: Believe in the risen Jesus (Luke 24:9-11)
• RUN: Move towards Jesus in faith (Luke 24:12)

QUESTIONS:

1. As Luke 24 begins, what do you notice about the followers of Jesus before anyone fully understands that Jesus has risen? What does this reveal about the condition of Jesus’ followers after the crucifixion?
2. The angels ask the women, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?” (Luke 24:5). What do you think they meant? In what ways are we still tempted to look for life in places that can never truly satisfy?
3. The angels remind the women, “Remember how He told you…” (Luke 24:6-8). Why is remembering God’s Word so essential to our faith? What causes us to lose sight of the everyday reality of the gospel, and how can we intentionally remember it?
4. What’s the difference between believing about Jesus and actually entrusting your life to Him? Is there an area of your life where God is inviting you to trust Him more deeply right now?
5. Peter ran to the empty tomb and left marveling at what he had seen (Luke 24:12). What does Peter’s response teach us about following Jesus when we still have questions? How can seasons of doubt or struggle actually deepen our faith?
