Luke: Follow Jesus - The Perfection of the Cross

QUESTIONS:

1. What part of this passage about Jesus’ final moments impacts you the most? Why?
2. Do you tend to view God more as someone who is disappointed in you because of your failures, or as the Father who gave His innocent Son to rescue you?  
3. (Luke 23:39-43) The first criminal wanted Jesus to change his circumstances. The second criminal wanted Jesus- even if his circumstances never changed. Where are you tempted to love what Jesus can do for you more than Jesus Himself?
4. (Luke 23:44-49) The cross reveals that God is both perfectly just and perfectly loving. How does seeing both His holiness and His love together change the way you view God?
5. Jesus’ final words were, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” What do you need to trust into the Father’s hands today?
