Luke: Follow Jesus- Spiritual Heart Disease

• Religious Heart (Luke 15:1-3;28-30)
• Rebellious Heart (Luke 15:12-13)
• Redeemers Heart (Luke 15:1-32)
   

QUESTIONS:

1. Where do you see traces of the religious heart in yourself (grumbling, comparing, keeping score, feeling entitled)? Where in your life do you find yourself viewing God more like a boss than a Father?
2. Where do you see traces of the rebellious heart in yourself (selfishness, impulsiveness, lack of self control, resistance to boundaries)? Where in your life do you find yourself viewing God more like a cop than a Father?
3. Both sons sought to control and run from the Father- one through rule-keeping, one through rule-breaking.  Which way are you most often tempted to run?
4. Both sons needed repentance. Repentance is not just admitting sin, but coming home to the Fathers heart. Where in your life are you ‘close to home but far from the Father’?
