Luke: Follow Jesus - Underwhelmed by Jesus

QUESTIONS:

1. (Luke 9:18-20) (Who is He?) How I define Jesus will determine the direction of my life. Who do you say that He is, not just with your words, but with your life? If your life had a seating chart, where would Jesus be seated? (Colossians 1:17-18)
2. (Luke 9:21-22) (What did He come to do?) We all have expectations of Jesus and what He will do for us. What do you most often expect Jesus to do for you? How do those expectations line up with what Jesus actually came to do for you?
3. (Luke 9:23-27) (How do I follow?) When Jesus says, “deny yourself, take up your cross and follow me”, which part do you struggle with most in your life? Where is ‘self’ most prominent in your life right now?
4. (Luke 9:28-36) (Why it matters) Jesus often underwhelms us so that we can know that He alone understands us. How does the Transfiguration help us understand that we have a king that is able to sympathize with us? (Hebrews 4:15)
