Luke: Follow Jesus - Conversations with Jesus

OUTLINE:

QUESTIONS:

1. (Luke 9:57-62) Jesus asks us to pick up our cross daily and follow Him. What are some of the costs of discipleship you have encountered? What conversations have you had with Jesus that hinder your full surrender to His calling to discipleship? (Luke 9:23-24)
2. (Luke 10:1-11) Jesus gave instructions to the 70 to travel lightly and pray for laborers for the harvest. What does a sense of urgency look like in your own walk of discipleship? When did you feel as though you were sent as lambs among wolves? How did you respond?
3. (Luke 10:12-16) Jesus gives a stern warning to several as He speaks of where He ministered. What does indifference look like in your walk with Jesus? How is He calling you to walk out your salvation with fear and trembling? (Phil 2:1-12)
4. (Luke 10:17-20) Jesus was joyous with the return of the 70 but warned them to not rejoice in what they did but to rejoice that their names are recorded in heaven. When have you lost focus on Jesus and turned the attention to yourself? How do your point others to Jesus? What fears do you have when Jesus asks you to do something?
5. (Luke 10:21-24) Jesus confirms to His disciples they have seen things that prophets and kings wished to have seen. Do you consider yourself as wise and intelligent? What things has He revealed to you lately? What would it be like to approach Jesus like a child? (Luke 18:16-17)
